Page Structure

The EPRA website uses custom Page Types, Page Templates and Containers to allow content to be managed easily and with flexibility.

Page Types and Templates

As well as defining the structure/appearance of a page through a Template option, Page Types provide appropriate Schema definitions to allow machine readers and AI to understand your content.  For example, an Article page will deliver a schema that includes author information.

The following custom page types are provided:

Page

General purpose type that allows the use of any template.  Typically used for legal content and other pages not covered elsewhere.

Press Release

Uses only the Press release template.

Article

Uses only the Article Template.

Event

Uses only the event Template.  Event pages are created automatically but may have additional content added in the normal way.

Service

Uses only the Service Template. These page types are used for pages under the Indices and research, Standards and policy and Investor outreach sections.

Documentation

Uses only the Documentation template.  Used only in the internal documentation pages.

Page structure

Most templates will provide the necessary structure for their expected content by default.

In some cases the content will need additional structure and for this we prefer the use of Containers.  A number of Container templates have been provided:

Rows

Provide new content areas with defined structure and alignment (columns collapse in mobile view).

  • Single Column
  • Single Column Narrow - often used to constrain videos and diagram widths.
  • Row - Two Column
  • Row - Two Column 5:5
  • Row - Two Column 5:6 - this is our usual two column structure
  • Row - Two Column 6:5
  • Row - Three Column
  • Row - Four Column

Section

Used to divide content.  Note that as well as providing spacing above and below the Section container wraps its content into a html 'section' which denotes 'a generic standalone section of a document, which doesn't have a more specific semantic element to represent it'.

Panel Section

Used to give styling and structure to a specific area.  Background colours can be controlled with Pro Container Tools (see below).

Dividers

Used primarily on the home page these allow a smooth graduation from one coloured section to another:

  • Divider - Body to Primary
  • Divider - Body to White
  • Divider - Transparent
  • Divider - White to Body
  • Divider - White to Primary
  • Divider Primary to Body
  • Divider Primary to White

Tabs

Used to provide tabbed navigation sections on specific pages.

  • Tabs - Board
  • Tabs - Committees
  • Tabs - Monthly Reports
