Barney started his career as a General practice Surveyor training and practising in the Central London commercial property market in the 1990’s. More recently his career has been property data related working on projects including the roll out of energy performance certificates in the UK and as Chief Operating Officer in a Joint Venture Company with HomeTrack.

Matthew leads EPRA Investor Outreach. As part of EPRA’s management team, he initiates the investor outreach strategy and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with investors. He ensures the investor outreach team represent the European listed real estate sector effectively, develop campaigns that successfully highlight the benefits of sector investment, and create platforms that promote EPRA members’ attributes.

He is a qualified management accountant with extensive business development experience across public and private markets, including real estate.

David leads EPRA’s Indexes & Research team, shaping the association’s research agenda and overseeing the FTSE EPRA Nareit Index Series on behalf of investors, REITs and property companies, and the wider listed real estate industry. Together with his team and external partners, he delivers research publications, market intelligence, in-house analyses, and index governance programmes and activities. By providing trusted data, analysis, and industry insights, his work supports investment decision-making, promotes greater transparency and visibility for listed real estate, and supports EPRA’s mission to promote, develop and represent the European public real estate sector.

Hassan shapes EPRA’s strategic direction across financial reporting, sustainability and membership, representing the sector with regulators, standard-setters and global industry leaders. He oversees the Reporting & Accounting and Sustainability Committees, BPR/sBPR frameworks, research and flagship Finance and Sustainability Summits. His remit spans IFRS advocacy, financial regulatosr and ISSB engagement, and EU/UK ESG regulation alongside EPRA’s policy team. He advances international collaboration through the Global REIT Alliance’s finance and sustainability initiatives, including engagement with the GHG Protocol, CRREM and other global partners. He serves on Nareit’s Best Financial Practices Council and REALPAC’s Financial Best Practices Committee, and served on GRESB’s Advisory Board until 2022. His leadership strengthens transparency, investor confidence and the sector’s sustainable development.

As Director of Regulatory & Public Affairs, Tobias is part of EPRA’s management team and responsible for advocating for the stock-listed real estate sector and its members across Europe. Before joining EPRA, Tobias worked for BASF, the world’s largest chemical corporation, in its Government Relations office in Brussels, representing the company’s Innovation & Technology hub. Prior to that, Tobias worked as Parliamentary Advisor and Head of Office for a Member of the European Parliament in the Parliament’s Legal Affairs, Budgetary Control and Social Affairs Committees, followed by a position as consultant for Public Affairs in several areas of EU policymaking. He holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Business Administration from Munich University of Applied Sciences and received a Master’s double degree in European Studies from the Universities of Vienna and Krakow, along with Executive Education programs at Harvard Law School and INSEAD.

Roxana shapes and delivers EPRA’s communications and events strategy with her team members, aligning messaging, content and industry engagement with the association’s priorities. She oversees EPRA’s publications and communications materials, coordinates social media strategy and implementation, and manages external communications partners, including PR and designing. She develops the programme and content for EPRA’s annual conference together her team, with relevant stakeholders and contributes to EPRA's wider events and education programmes, creating platforms that enable members and industry experts to exchange knowledge and explore the issues shaping the European listed real estate sector.

Lourdes embarked on her professional journey with EPRA in 2019, joining the Indexes & Research team and initiating her path in the listed real estate industry . In 2023, she transitioned to the Sustainability team, furthering her commitment to driving impactful initiatives in the industry within EPRA. Prior to joining EPRA, Lourdes worked at Kartesia (Brussels), monitoring 2 debt portfolios, and at Banco Santander S.A. (Madrid), contributing to key European regulatory projects. She holds a Master's degree in Law alongside a Business Diploma from ICADE – Comillas Pontifical University.

Giovanni supports and manages various EPRA research initiatives, providing members, investors and the wider market with actionable insights into the listed real estate sector. He curates EPRA's recurring publications and is responsible for the EPRA Total Markets Table and the Monthly Market Reviews. He also contributes to the management of the FTSE EPRA Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series. In parallel, he designs and builds new databases behind the indices and their constituents and curates the existing ones, ensuring the data is reliable and useful for market participants.

Serkan joined EPRA’s Investor Outreach team in March 2019, bringing experience from BNY Mellon, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Euroclear across Brussels, Singapore, and London. He holds a BBA from Vesalius College and graduated from ESCP Business School’s Executive MBA (Class of 2025) with distinction.

Aliénor joined EPRA in May 2022 after a successful tenure organizing events in the luxury hospitality sector. Her expertise lies in providing unparalleled customer service and event experiences in esteemed 5-star establishments spanning from Monaco (Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer) to Singapore (Grand Hyatt Singapore). After covid, fueled by an insatiable curiosity, Aliénor made the choice to channel her skills beyond the realm of hospitality by joining EPRA taking care of the events, as well as the communication part. Aliénor is equipped with a Master's degree in Luxury Brand Management from INSEEC, Paris (2016), completing a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Business Management from Glion Institute of Higher Education, Switzerland (2013). She speaks French, English, has good notions of Portuguese and Spanish, and understands well Dutch and Italian.

Sissi began her journey at EPRA in its Hong Kong office, focusing on Asian Investor Outreach initiatives. In 2020, she relocated to Brussels to expand her efforts across Europe. In 2025, she further broadened her role by joining EPRA’s Sustainability team. Before EPRA, she worked at Synnex Group as a service management specialist. Originally from Mainland China, Sissi holds a Master’s degree in Science from the City University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Engineering from Dalian Maritime University.

Iskren Marinov is EPRA’s Membership Manager and Index Analyst, responsible for strengthening relationships with members and supporting the listed real estate sector through market and index analysis. He manages EPRA’s membership programme and member engagement activities, coordinates the Technology & Innovation Committee, and contributes to research and analysis related to the FTSE EPRA Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series. His work helps ensure that members remain connected, informed and actively involved in EPRA’s activities.

Merlyn is a member of EPRA’s Operations and Office Management team, where she is responsible for membership admin liaising. She also plays an active role in the planning and coordination of EPRA’s key events throughout the year, including EPRA Insights, Corporate Access Day, the Annual Conference, and the Sustainability Summit. In addition to her event-related responsibilities, Merlyn supports the day-to-day administrative operations of the association, including maintaining and updating EPRA’s CRM database with new members and contacts. She also works closely with the Innovation and Technology Committee, contributing to the organisation and coordination of its meetings and activities during the year.

Baris drives EPRA's technical work on financial reporting and accounting, supporting listed property companies, investors and auditors in applying and interpreting the EPRA Best Practices Recommendations (BPR). Beyond coordinating the Reporting & Accounting Committee and maintaining the BPR Guidelines and Database, he advises members on accounting questions and represents the sector before standard setters such as the IASB and EFRAG. He also contributes to the annual Finance Summit, organised with Bloomberg by the R&A and Events teams. As AI Lead, Baris convenes EPRA's AI Working Group, exploring how AI can create value for members. This work strengthens the transparency and comparability of the European listed real estate sector.

 

Jean-Marie is EU Policy Manager within EPRA. He is responsible for ESG and financial related policies. Before joining EPRA early 2024, Jean-Marie worked as a consultant for a compliance boutique firm and for the consultancy firm Lighthouse Europe, where he provided strategic counsel to a wide range of clients. Since the beginning of his career, Jean-Marie developed an expertise in assisting all kind of stakeholders both private and public to raise their awareness on specific topics such as green finance, ESG, and digital. He holds a L.LM from the Institute for European Studies of the Free University of Brussels (IEE-ULB) as well as a double degree in Law from the Friederich Alexander University (Germany) and the Université Rennes 1 (France). Jean-Marie is fluent in English, German and French.

Jonathan joined EPRA in 2023 and oversees the association’s tax, finance and REIT policy work. He develops EPRA’s positions on tax and finance legislation, leads advocacy on key EU initiatives and represents the listed real estate sector in discussions with EU institutions and national governments. His work also covers capital markets and the Savings and Investments Union, helping ensure that the sector’s contribution to investment, competitiveness and Europe’s real economy is reflected in policymaking. Jonathan holds a Master’s in Law from UCLouvain and a postgraduate Master’s degree in European Studies from the College of Europe.

Dominique joined EPRA as CEO in 2017, moving from BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management where he held the CEO position for Luxembourg and Belgium. After working in a private bank followed by five years as a management consultant on large financial sector projects for KPMG Consulting, he joined Fortis Private Real Estate in 2004, where he was COO for international investment and fund management activities in Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands and Spain until 2011, before moving with the company to the UK. He is a native French and Dutch speaker and fluent in English. He holds a Master in Business Administration from ICHEC Brussels and a European Master in Financial Analysis (CFA) from the Belgian Association of Financial Analysts.

Shaohong oversees EPRA's office operations and administrative processes, ensuring the smooth delivery of services that support the association, its members and governance bodies. She coordinates key operational activities including finance and invoicing processes, board and committee administration, HR and office management, and she supports the events team with corporate events and meetings. Working closely with CEO Dominique Moerenhout and the wider team, she helps ensure efficient day-to-day operations, enabling EPRA to deliver value to its members and advance its mission as the voice of Europe's listed real estate sector.
