EPRA Annual Conference 2012

The Berlin Annual Conference was a far more interactive gathering of the listed sector than previously. Speakers included top economist Ian Shepherdson and Sam Zell (known as the founding father of US REITs).

The spotlight was firmly set on Germany, the growth potential of the sector there and how the REIT model could help resolve the growing doubts facing the open-ended fund structure. Industrialist and former German politician Roland Koch revealed the complexity of the political process in Germany and the opportunities open to listed sector once its qualities become widely recognised in Berlin.
